Why was Tensai built?

Claude reasons deeper, ChatGPT iterates faster — most serious AI workflows use both. That means manually copying context between tabs, re-explaining decisions, and losing what was already figured out. Tensai keeps that context moving automatically, structured and local, so every switch between Claude and ChatGPT is seamless.

Is Tensai free? Do I need an account, subscription, or API key?

Tensai is completely free. No subscription, no account, no Anthropic API key, and no OpenAI API key required. You only need a logged-in Claude tab and a logged-in ChatGPT tab in Chrome. Compression runs entirely on-device with no external API calls.

Does Tensai send my conversation data to any server?

No. All conversation memory stays in chrome.storage.session inside your browser and clears automatically when Chrome closes. There are no external servers, no cloud sync, no analytics, and no telemetry. Nothing from your conversation is ever transmitted outside your browser.

Will Tensai ever automatically send a message or submit a prompt on my behalf?

Never. Tensai only fills the AI's draft box with the compressed context. You always review, edit, and press Send yourself. No auto-submit behavior exists under any condition — not on tab switch, not on context limit detection, not in any setting or future version.

Can Tensai sync context in both directions — ChatGPT to Claude as well as Claude to ChatGPT?

Yes, Tensai is fully bidirectional. It captures turns from whichever AI you are talking to and injects context in either direction — Claude to ChatGPT, or ChatGPT to Claude. Both sides contribute to the shared local session and authenticated browser QA has confirmed two-way capture and injection working correctly.

What happens when Claude hits its context limit?

Tensai detects Claude's context limit through real DOM signals and automatically fires a one-time structured handoff into the paired ChatGPT tab — your objective, decisions, open questions, and code, trimmed to a 2,500-token cap. A toast appears on Claude with a Switch now action. You still review and send it yourself.

Why does Chrome show a warning when installing?

If Enhanced Protection is enabled, Chrome shows this notice for new extensions until store reputation builds. Tensai is 100% local and serverless — simply click 'Continue to install'.

Which browsers does Tensai support?

Tensai supports Google Chrome and Chromium-based browsers on Chrome 109 or later, including Microsoft Edge, Brave, and Arc. Firefox and Safari are not supported in version 1.0.

By installing and using the Tensai Chrome Extension, you agree to these Terms of Use. Tensai is provided as a local browser tool designed to preserve and transfer conversation context between Claude and ChatGPT.

2. Draft Pre-Fill & Manual Control

Tensai operates under a strict manual review principle. When switching tabs between AI platforms, Tensai populates a structured summary into the target platform’s draft box. Tensai will never auto-submit, execute, or send messages on your behalf. You retain total control to inspect, edit, or delete draft content before pressing Send.

3. Independent Project & Trademark Disclaimer

Tensai is an independent browser extension developed by Lalit Kumar. Tensai is not affiliated, associated, authorized, endorsed by, or in any way officially connected with Anthropic PBC (Claude), OpenAI Inc. (ChatGPT), or Google LLC (Chrome), or any of their subsidiaries or affiliates.

4. Disclaimer of Warranty & Limitation of Liability

Tensai is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE", without warranty of any kind, express or implied. Because Tensai relies on DOM structure parsing within third-party web interfaces (claude.ai and chatgpt.com), updates made by third-party platforms may temporarily affect context detection or injection until updated.
